Matt Walshs excellent Clouded Vision Recordings imprint returns with what is possibly the labels biggest release to date, featuring multi talented producer Bozzwell and a host of quality remixes...David Boswell AKA Bozzwell has had a colourful and highly successful career in music spanning almost two decades. From his early white label rave productions through his years as vocalist and bassist with chart topping act All Seeing I to his recordings as Hiem for labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Eskimo he has always let shine his passion for recording, producing and performing. In spring 2011 Bozzwell joined forces with Matt Walshs highly respected Clouded Vision imprint to remix Darabis superb Truckin. The mix was a huge success and led to Walsh and Bozzwell agreeing a single release, 6 months on and the result is the excellent Ambition.The release kicks off with the original version, a wonderful taut electro tinged track that fuses dark synths, a twilight zone-esque top riff and rolling drums to create a perfect soundbed for Bozzwells distinctive vocals. The quality of production is no less than youd expect from this studio veteran and the track oozes quality from beginning to end, an instant winner.The first of the remixes comes from Toronto 3 piece My Favorite Robot, an act who have been creating quite a stir with both their own productions and their super hot label of the same name. For their remix of Ambition they journey further into dark and haunting territory with a stripped out electro version that as wonderfully intense and engaging.Next up we have Parisian Maxime Iko who takes time out from recording for Steve Lawlers Viva label to rework Ambition. His mix is a brooding tech fuelled house workout that draws on layered percussion, heavily effected vocals and discordant stabs and sweeps to create a mix with an instant 5am feel to it.Finally we have Dont be Afraid label boss Semtek at the controls, twisting things up into a techno reworking that delivers on every level, sublime!Ambition is standout record from a producer who continues to shine and a label that can always be relied on for quality.
