Pretty Pink closes a magical year with her eponymous Fairytale EP. After (a massive year as she has dominated the European festival stages and intimate club sets, released plenty of massive tracks, curated sounds on her label Wanderlust Music, own single releases and branding her event series Deep Woods, she delivers again with this very personal homage to this year.
‚Fairytale' is a three-track tale release which makes us once again the creativity and versatility audible.
Embarking on a sound journey through a native bases soundscapes, the EP's title track 'Fairytale' started out as a DJ tool, a brief clip to throw into mixes at just the right time, quickly took on a life of its own and became a fan favourite whenever its played on the floor. Announcing itself with a driving kick drum, the track melds pulsating rhythmic synths and a heavy melody with high-intensity progressive breakdowns and an infectious take off.
'Falling' switches up the emotional state by implementing a driving pumping bassline, rattling rhythms and hypnotic percussion, pairing them with euphoric piano chords and an stainded "I am falling for your love" male vocal. The mood is intensified by an acid line straight from the gutter of the ghetto and takes the crowd to a deeper dimension.
The closing track, 'Let It Be', comes with a pocky drum, warft basslines that make the groove. In the background, the ominous melody and the swelling synths paired with the acid vibe let you know that the track is about to rise the crowed. „Changes come and go, so you didn't no where to go on now - Let It Be" Kieran Fowkes delivers the hypnotically sung explanation, while rich, opulent beats lift you to lofty heights and at the same time ground it miraculously - on the dance floor - there is no escape when listening! The song takes the EP to its future conclusion „Let it be...Coming... going" and is the perfect finale for 2019.
