After a ten year hiatus, U.K based electronic producer Simon Vince is back with a freshly formed sound and project : FOURM.
Coming from a guitar based background - Simon's interest in electronic music grew in the late 90s,
having been given a 4 track recorder for his 18th birthday. He produced a couple of lofi electronica mixtapes based upon found sounds
and recorded samples teamed with his guitar, a sampler, loop pedal and old Casio keyboard. He later put out his first independent
release In 2005 ‘Old and New E.P', which comprised of a limited edition run of 85 CDs, each with individually unique artwork with stitched packaging.
Rough Trade described it as "...A beautiful package of beautiful music".
Simon moved to East London in the mid-2000's becoming inspired by the wave of minimal and electronic producers and clubs that were forming
the underground electronic music scene at the time. Armed with a couple of Korg Electribes - he played a few solo live sets including Notting Hill arts club,
Hub Club, Juno Bar, Cafe 1001 and was a regular at the ‘Multi-Vitamins' night at The Pool Bar. He also went on to put on his own night entitled ‘Klik'
with some fellow techno producers at Public Life in Shoreditch.
After a stint of lowkey solo performances, collaborations and playing guitar and bass in a couple of live electronic bands ,
Simon paused his music-making in 2009. In 2019 after a ten year hiatus, he decided it was time to get back into music again.
" I hadn't made any music in over a decade, so wanted to return with some musical progression; building upon my original
inspiration as well as new influences. Bringing it all together in a newly refreshed form; this was the birth of ‘FOURM'. "
Simon is also known for his design and artwork and designed the cover for Locust.
