The next release on Roush comes from South-American sensation Julian Collazos. The Columbian artist returns to the label with his ‘Bayamo’ EP, which features a remix from the ever- popular Alex Wellmann and showcases plenty of Julian’s distinguished house and tribal-inspired signature. Kicking things off, ‘Roop’ is a punchy, chugging number. Loaded with wide, atmospheric space and buildups; along with bumpy rhythms and catchy vocal sampling. The sort of track to have you engaged in a frantic head-bop from start to finish, and delivers with big-hitting drops throughout. ‘Bayamo’ changes things up with its rolling groove. Melodic sub-bass and sharp percussive components drive the track, and the intelligent use of effects and pitch give it an added layer of personality. A solid choice for any after-hours sets with plenty of dark, cryptic energy. Lastly, Alex Wellmann’s rendition of ‘Roop’ takes on the persona of your classic terrace bomb. With hints of classic rave, along with fast-paced modern tech flavours and a stupidly large low- end; this one is sure to cause some serious damage and take many an unsuspecting rave-goer by surprise.
