Album Only
MON016 | 2018-12-10
Monotone Boss Larry McCormick comes with a 6 track mini-album with straight up pure Electro goodness. The follow up to his album on Shipwrec entitled Intelectro, Larry McCormick aka Exzakt offers us a more puristic Electro sound that he is known for. Kicked off by 'Show The Way' we get that vintage Exzakt sound with crisp 909/808 layed kicks, haunting melodies and his signature vocals. Club banger for sure!
'One Step Ahead' goes the more melodic route but still keeps the beat moving for this late night anthem. Wrapping up the A-Side, 'Move Because I Said So' is a fun and funky classic Electro sound that gives off that Egyptian Lover vibe which Larry McCormick is known to be a huge fan of. Side B starts out strong with 'Creator'. Vibes are massive on this riding melodic jam which will allow you to move your ass yet spark your mind to travel the universe. Next, this mini-album gives you more and more with 'Eyes On Me'. On this journey, Larry comes with the signature hard percussion while building an atmosphere with trancey keys and subsonic pads that come together to create probably the deepest cut on this record. Finally to end this well rounded Electro 12' 'Magic City' is a bit of a departure from the normal sound yet still retains the low-end bass while creating some evil pads and synths. Perfect for cruising the 305 late at night in your sports car. Overall this Monotone return gives you what you have come to expect from Monotone yet introduces enough vibes to welcome you to the new Monotone future!
