Manchester’s Mason Collective debut on Hector Couto’s Roush this October with their three track ‘Lisp Problem’ EP. Manchester trio Mason Collective have been turning heads over the past 12 months, gaining support from artists including The Martinez Brothers and Loco Dice with releases on the likes of Wow! Recordings, Sola and Solid Grooves, and hosting their own twelve-hour showcase on Rinse FM earlier this year. With a busy summer featuring appearances at the likes of Creamfields, Parklife and Hideout wrapped up, attentions are now turned to a debut on Roush, with two solo tracks and a fresh collaboration alongside fellow Manchester talent Renko. ‘Lisp Problem’ opens proceedings, fusing skipping hats, rolling drum loops and infectious vocal hooks, before ‘Body Move’ combines organic percussion patterns packed full of swing, warped and echoed vocal licks and twisting synth lines throughout. Last up, ‘Pre Almads’ sees the trio combine with Renko to reveal a stripped back, groove heavy cut perfect for both the peak time and the afters.
