Alex M (Alessandro Mugnaini) was born in Pietrasanta on November 18, 1988. From a very young age, he was drawn to the world of music, captivated by its emotional depth and creative energy. Over time, thanks to the support of friends and his own determination, he decided to turn this passion into a professional path, dedicating himself seriously to the art of DJing and music production.
Throughout his career, Alex M has established himself both in the Italian and international electronic music scene, performing at iconic clubs such as Kama Kama and Frau in Versilia, and as a special guest at major events including Il Mattinè in Bologna, Rooms in Florence, Click Me Off in Genoa, and the Wave Music Boat Party in Rimini.
Alongside his DJ career, Alex has devoted himself with great passion to music production, developing a distinctive style that ranges across House, Deep House, Deep Tech, Tech House, and Techno. His tracks have been released on prestigious labels such as Stereo Productions, Serkal, Monique Musique, Toolroom Records, Witty Tunes, Sanity, Memoria Recordings, BlaBla, Hang On Music (which he founded), and many more.
One of his early successes was the "Moving The Sun" EP, released on Monique Musique in 2011, featuring a remix by Cesar Merveille. The track gained international support from DJs like Pete Tong (BBC Radio), Wally Lopez, and Andy Baxter, and was aired on Ibiza Sonica, La Factoria Radio Show, and Radio Deea, also entering various another download site charts.
In 2012, he released his first vinyl, "Move On & Love EP", on One To One Records, including a remix by Jay Bliss. In the following years, Alex released a series of acclaimed tracks and remixes, such as "Baby Your Eyes EP" (Sanity Records), supported by Loco Dice in Ibiza, and the remix of "Microphone Stereo" by Farfan, produced with John Stoongard, supported by Maceo Plex.
His "Club America" EP, also on Sanity Records, reached #46 in another download site's Top 100 for over three weeks, receiving support from artists like Chus & Ceballos and DJ Linus. In 2014, he founded his own label Hang On Music, quickly earning praise from names such as Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, and Santé.
His productions have been featured in major compilations like THE BPM 2014 (Stereo Productions), Miami Box (BlaBla Music), Amsterdam 2014 (Toolroom Records), and ADE 2016 (Elrow Music). Since December 2024, Alex M has been a resident DJ at Soffuso Club in Versilia. In March 2025, he signed an EP on the legendary Trax Records (Chicago), in collaboration with British vocalist Fran Wilson, marking another important milestone in his career.
