After completing the White Rats trilogy on Ron Morelli’s LIES records in early 2021, Oliver Ho returns to Broken English Club to finish the year with Nil By Mouth. 4 tracks that embody the attitude and broken soul of this very personal journey into industrial/wave/techno.
The title track, Nil By Mouth moves and shakes with broken beats, staccato synths, and distorted vocals. Coma comes in with deep hypnotic grooves and soundscapes. Taxidermy pushes outward into post-punk territories with rolling tom drums, feedback, and mono synth arpeggios. The last track, Young Dogs is a sluggish, nasty acid wall of noise, a fitting finish to a concise, intense, and powerful record.
