Sometimes we wonder what they're putting in the water in South Africa. Whatever it is, can we have some of it please? You're probably well aware that southern Africa has the most vibrant house music scene on the planet, and so perhaps it's not so surprising that the talent keeps on coming. At Tribe we're always delighted to welcome and promote fresh artists, and and that applies more than ever as we move beyond our 50th release.

It's time to kick back, because here we've got house music that's happy to move more slowly, languorously. The original mix is a lovely, lilting love song despite the fat drumbeats which underpin it. An atmospheric synthline and piano keys prepare the way for Katlego 'Kaysoul'Tjale to present his soulful vocals while Sibusiso Ntuli, whose stage name is Nombela but who is also known for being part of the Ikiwa Brothers label stable, takes care of the production.
Nombela has been producing music since 2009 with EPs for Black Sun Recordings and Ikiwa Brothers Music before he began remixing and creating tracks for US labels like DiverseCity Music. That experience shows in the assured way Nombela takes charge of an extended 'Welcome Back To Africa Meekx',

Tyrone 'The Mixologist' Francis was born in the UK but he's been based in Brooklyn since he was 11 and has built up a great reputation as a DJ who was first inspired by New York legends like Larry Levan and David Camacho. He's repaid their inspiration by being the DJ who has guested most often at world-renowned Club Shelter and Body & Soul parties (if you don't think that's special, you don't know those events). He co-founded the Blak-n-Yello label and which launched their own monthly 'BKNY' event at Brooklyn's The Morgan in 2011 and he's been a long-time friend and collaborator of the Tribe label and a frequent DJ partner for Tribe's Zepherin Saint in particular.
So here at Tribe we knew all about the kind of quality and attention to detail that The Mixologist brings to all he does. Francis is also the man behind a series of great BNY re-edits and remixes, and here he brings his awesome technical skills to deliver two remixes with subtle disco-funky bass riffs, while the instrumental is a beautiful and sophisticated way to treat this tune. I guess Americans would call it 'classy', and that's good enough for us too.
