We continue a strong start to 2024 with the hugely talented Asida Aya debuting on Bonzai Progressive, bringing us the deep and lush proggy vibes of ‘Climax’. Based in Alexandria, Egypt, mystery surrounds this wonderfully creative artist who has been releasing quality tracks on various labels since 2014. Starting out with trance and psy-trance, Asida’s sound has evolved, infusing ethnic sounds with contemporary grooves. Now delving into melodic house, techno and progressive house, we’re delighted to have him on board at BP.

‘Climax’ opens the release introing with an effective pulsating beat as ethereal sounds fade in. Flurries of exotic percussions lay the foundation for smooth rhythms while distinctive traditional instruments play out enchanting melodies. A rich progressive element shines throughout the groove, luring the listener in to the panoramic soundscape. Beautifully constructed, a definite must have. ‘Selection Time’ rounds out the release, delivering a more upfront vibe with the introduction of wider synth patterns that create a wall of sound. Chunky kicks and spritely hats lay the foundation as swathes of flashing percussions steady the rhythm for the duration. The bass is carried on a wave of emotive notes that compliment the myriad of synths and enunciated vocals, creating an energized atmosphere. Superb stuff that will not disappoint.
