The Hurricane Barbara EP is the third release on John Crockett's (of Working Underneath) Twirlspace Recordings imprint. This lush three-tracker is a continuation of the ambient, percussive, Deep House tradition for which Twirlspace has become known. "Inward Leap" starts us off with with a tracky, percussive vibe that transitions into a bubbling conga/acoustic piano/woodwind serenade at the song's end. The title track, "Hurricane Barbara" is a charging, all-out blitz of sleek progressions, varied melody and hot percussion. "Compton Scatter" has ambient and modest beginnings, only to morph into a furious barrage of far-east-tinged, percussive Deep House.
