TRIBE023 | 2011-11-30
Tribes latest release sees two legendary names in house music from different corners of globe join forces, South Africa producer DJ Mbuso and Harrison Crump from Chicago another name from the past on vocal duties come together on this superb deep vocal cut Oh Yeah. The track was released last year in South Africa on Mbusos Phezulu Records and here it is fresh with some fiery hot remixes from one of the young talents in the scene DJeff from Angola.

Mbuso is one of the biggest names in South African house music. After taking the prime weekend dance slot on YFM Radio in early 2000 he teamed up with partner Harael Salkow and bought the Sugartrax vinyl store in Rosebank and converted it into the Soul Candi dance brand. Soul Candi Session 1 was released in 2003. His first self-produced album, Shades Of Maf & So, was released in 2005, and in 2006 he split from Soul Candi and moved Phezulu Records as an independent project to Johannesburg. You can still catch Mbuso spinning regularly in South Africa and is about to tour his new mix album Phezulu Sessions 3 this month.

Harrison Crumps long list of credits both as a producer and singer can be found on labels such as Dust Traxx and Subliminal Records. He has worked with an incredible amount of talent in his various roles both with-in the House and Hip-Hop genre over the last 15 years. Hes appeared on a plethora of internationally respected labels including Play It Again Sam, Nepenta, and Essence.

More recently hes been djing and performing live in South Africa hooking up with Mbuso last year when they came together on Oh Yeah. Harrison has been working on a new album House On Fire which is due for imminent release which will see him also touring around South Africa with Mbuso.
