Next out of the gate at Kulture Records with our second label release is Ellie Cocks, she serves up a high energy EP comprising some pulsating modern Tech House weapons including a remix from Dee No. Ellie has been steadily making her mark as not only a resident of the UK powerhouse that is ABODE, but also as a fast-rising production talent with a steady flow of high calibre releases to boot.

'Funky Love' keeps up the high tempo pulsing trend with its pounding heartbeat of a kick. Accompanied tastefully by captivating bassline, shuffled hat rhythms and another sultry female vocal and you're on the money for a big room dance floor weapon. Ellie's creative use of FX to really widen out the track in its transitional stages are commendable and make for some thoroughly enjoyable hammer blows with an added rattle on the drops.

'In The Clouds' is a quick-tempo Tech roller with a sting in its tail, it sports a rumbling tonal bassline and driving drum patterns that perfectly complement each other. Throw on top of that some tidy percussive elements and some hypnotic female vocal licks and you've got yourself firm choice in any playlist!

The Dee No adaptation of 'Funky Love' is a worthy adversary, leaning more towards the groovier end of the spectrum and filled with heaps of character. This quirky jam wastes no time in letting you know what it's about, presenting itself with a twisted and trippy reenactment of the original. A constant stream of moodiness and analogue aggression from start to finish, that will leave you feeling like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards by the time it's finished with you.
