DJ and producer Marcelo De Almeida returns to Piston Recordings with the superb Primavera EP which features three excellent cuts and follows his debut ' Dub Motion EP. Marcelo spent his childhood in Canada listening to Hip Hop, he later moved to Portugal where he discovered a whole new world of music in the underground house music scene. After mastering the art mixing he turned his hand at music production and began to delve into deep and tech house. He is the label manager at Raw Level Records and over the years he has dished out a plethora of top notch grooves across several quality labels.

Primavera is the first of three tech house joints from Marcelo and if you're after some serious grooves then you've come to the right place. Right from the first few bars you get drawn into the hypnotic nature of this track. A solid drum section drives provides the perfect dancefloor fodder while those mesmerizing, playful arpeggiated synths really draw you in. A groovy bassline gets the body moving with the flow making this an absolute must have to get the party started.

Confessa delivers a deeper slice of tech house with more minimal approach. The big focus is on the drums where several patterns intertwine effortlessly to create a solid, rhythmic groove. A very subtle, plucky bassline melts into the drum sequences beautifully while quirky FX and surreal synths come through at the midway point. Top notch stuff with a real tight groove, perfect for the set builders.

18 Horas rounds up this superb EP with a deeper groove made up of chunky beats and a dark, probing bassline. Tight drums lead the way, delivering a smooth rhythmic flow which features several layers of percussions sitting alongside cool FX to create that unique groove. Minimalistic synths fade in and out adding texture to the sound while that bassline dominates. An excellent slice that will not disappoint.
