Rommek continues his 'Set In Stone Trilogy' for James Ruskin's Blueprint with part two, 'Sedimentary'.
Each release in the series represents one of the fundamental rock classifications and the track titles are those found within each class. As Rommek states: 'Rocks are usually categorised according to their texture, mineral or chemical content. I think this metaphorically relates to how we create music and even classify genres. The natural world inspires me all the time, whether it's small patterns / textures found in formation and erosion, or a vast landscape. I also find it interesting how nature interacts with the man-made world. This trilogy explores that.' Sedimentary rocks are formed from particles of sand, shells, skeletons and other fragments of material that have settled at the bottom of a lake, sea or ocean. Gradually, the sediment accumulates in layers and due to its disposition, it hardens into rock over a long period of time.
Likewise Rommek's 'Sedimentary' takes things deeper than the previous 'Igneous' EP, although still offering plenty of atmosphere and intensity. Industrial soundscapes and menacing bass tones evolve, while the tension of strings captures and keeps a grip on the listener's attention throughout this second episode of the trilogy.
'Sedimentary' is released on vinyl and digitally on 13 July, followed by the third and final part, 'Metamorphic Versions' consisting of remixes from key members of the Blueprint team: James Ruskin, OVR, Broken English Club and Makaton, after the summer.
