Pieces Of Me (Part 3)

Third Son

The ‘Pieces of Me’ release has been an insight into the influences, background and near future of Third Son’s journey. With that, the final instalment gives the listener an idea of what’s to come. Entering with a left of field techno number, and finishing with an electro inspired break, the producer opens up about his vision for tomorrow. “I wanted to make something that’s as interesting and fun to listen to at home or on the road, as it is in the club. The tracks are primarily designed for loudspeakers, but I’d hope the musical content is enough to draw in a range of listeners” Lead track, ‘Counterculture’, is a no holds barred banger, for want of a better word. With low-end and percussion in full force, this one is perfect for peak-time. Spacey but still driving, ‘Moon Face Girl’ keeps us on the floor. Swingy hats and offbeat snares maintaining the momentum, which builds to a devastating conclusion. Both ‘Mobius Strip’ and ‘Bye’ show off a more reflective side to the producer, the latter being the most introspective of the release. Used by Third Son to conclude a set, ‘Bye’ contains an infectious melody with a take home message. Life is short, let’s enjoy. Written & produced by Third Son Artwork by Isterika
