London based James Dexter is a name that is synonymous with the finest quality house music. He peddles his wares with labels as diverse as Bondage Music, Gruuv and Poker Flat Recordings. His music is filled with emotion and energy and gives a distinct nod to the origins of the the genre. We are pleased to present this stylish three tracker just in time for the warmer weather.
First up is a shuffling house jam titled 'No Stress' which revolves around a bouncing sub groove and loose percusion. A blissful female vocal cut echoes through and has distinct garage vibe which is backed up by the funky low end groove. The track has a throwback vibe, and is crafted with tonnes of care and skill to create warmth and punch that keeps the floor shaking.
On 'Return' James takes a deeper turn. Here he introduces rich synth pads and deep chords which swirl and twist together across the soundscape. The drum track remains thick and crunchy, with solid punch and a driving groove to deliver maximum impact on the dancefloor. Closing out the EP is 'Trapped'. This time the beat is amped up with a more techy edge and a heavy sub bass tightly locks in the groove. Fierce analog synth swells bring waves of tension into play and are contrasted wonderfully by James's signature lush chords. A spoken female vocal ensures an emotive ride from beginning to end.
