An evergreen disco-funk-calypso record, Bunny Mack’s ‘Let Me Love You’ was released in 1980, the first commercial hit for the composer and musician from Sierra Leone. Perfectly suited to DJ Gregory’s world fusion sensibilities, he worked a remix plus Pepsi and Fanta Dubs for Defected in 2008, all of which are included on this 4 To The Floor package. Alongside the DJ Gregory versions are two brand new remixes from Moplen, an Italian DJ and vinyl junkie. His Discolypsomix introduces electric organ and synths in keeping with Bunny Mack’s Afro roots, while the Discolypsodub lets the radiant layered drum sounds take all the glory. Completed by a remix from Grand High Priest that pares back the instrumentation for a more direct house approach, this is another stellar lightbulb moment of rediscovery from 4 To The Floor.
