Ibiza based Gonçalo has been putting in work for over a decade, and his flourishing music career is a testament to this dedication. With a residency at one of Madrid’s most esteemed venues and headline spots across Europe, his DJ sets are clearly well received. He has previously released on such heavy hitting labels as Toolroom, Clarisse and Stereo Productions, and 2018 sees his return to the studio and the unveiling of his debut on DPE.
The title of this single, ‘LSD Mornings’, gives a hint to the deep and trippy nature of what lies ahead. Gonçalo uses his vast studio knowledge to craft a twisted fusion of deep, tribal beats and pumping bass grooves. Atop the groove rides an enchanted melody which is teased in and out of the composition until it is finally released in whole, bringing forth a magical dancefloor moment of blissful perfection. ‘LSD Mornings’ is certainly a trip you won’t forget, bringing you up for eight and a half minutes of pure class!
Up for the task of remixing this beast is none other than label boss, Stefano Noferini. He takes ‘LSD Mornings’ up a notch with a driving beat and sub bass along with his signature tribal percussion. Rich synth stabs are joined by bouncing analog sequences which tie in effortlessly with the rhythmic shuffle of the beat. Stefano then unleashes the original arpegio hook in all it’s emotive glory, before dropping kicking it back to the heads-down groove.
