Day Time Version - Mini Album.
We are proud to announce and share with you all our celebratory album; 10. 'A Decade of M.I.RAW Recordings Underground Classics.'
And what a decade it's been for ourselves, technology and music in general. Fast moving online evolution has shifted how we create, interact and receive/source music, that in turn has had an effect on sound from classic & brand new UKG, & House.
Mid/late 2007 we found ourselves heading towards the Yorkshire region (U.K) musically (Huddersfield & Sheffield (to be specific) and the emergence of Bassline House with genre pioneer DJ Q and friends. Then (2009) heading back down to London & the holiday party Islands who like us fell in love with U.K Funky with DJ Footloose & friends at the helm. (both genres we call UKG's little brothers)
2012 & 2013 gave us the fantastic UKG 2012 Ep's Volumes 1,2 & 3 with a whole host of super-star producers & vocalists from the Dreem Teem, Club Asylum, Submerse, Agent X, Mark Hill pka Artful, Whojax, DJ Fonti & Co. Then out of nowhere arrived the inspiring & ultimate perfectionists in the form of Birmingham's Yllavation & Miss Coco Brown first offering for the label with the raunchy 'What You Want'!
The label in 2014 took the decision to terminate its EMI deal, and go it fully independent, experimenting as good independents should with technology as well as music. Continuing to entwine new sounds to freshen up UKG & the House genres from the urban perspective. Hand picked vocalists, song writers enlisted by our team of producers & Tony, putting their experiences into words so Dj's and music lovers around the world can enjoy & relate.
A new deal sees us in 2016 release a whole wealth of music. Kicking of the year with singles, Ep's, the 'Raw Talent', and 'Amazing & Incredible' albums. Releasing music from U.K Queen of R&B & Garage, Ms. Kele Le Roc, then fast tracking over the Atlantic where Detroit super vocalist now hailing out of Los Angeles, Terry Dexter gave us her haunting trademark R&B/House vocal on top of the hybrid Garage/Bass beat from Edinburgh's Niall MacDonald. 2016 also has seen the label bring something else to the table in the form of The Dreamers, Johnson Orchid, & legendary DJ, producer, re-mixer Booker T with the refix & remixes of L.A Reid & Babyface's 1988 classic chart topping song 'Roses Are Red'.
2016 an unprecedented year for the label that delivered Wynter Black (straight on the back of her television experience) alongside DJ Fabian with the synchronicity fueled 'Music' to the world, and just because we can we delivered an absolute classic from our vaults in the form of Maxwell D 'B.B.Hype' & 'Serious', previously unreleased digitally, remastered versions, & now re-issued for your pleasure.
10. 'A Decade of Underground Classics' truly covers all points of dance, raw & soulful spectrum musically from heritage to the sound of tomorrow. A melting pot that brought together music family & friends from around the World.
Words from label creator, Tony Portelli.
Firstly, I must mention both my book, written back in 2005, published January 2006, and the myspace.com website, as those platforms were the inspiration & tools needed for this my second record label to get started.
I've met and communicated with so many amazing people down the years, I couldn't tell you how many singles have been sent out in that time to the djs who play such an important role, it could be a hundred, maybe two or three hundred with remix versions. It certainly has been inspiring seeing new and older music creatives turning their personal life experiences and thoughts in to sound, & words or re creating classics from yesteryear. In some instances changing the game along that time-line. To all of you, and those we have not worked with but who are doing a great job doing their own thing; I, we salute you all.
