Established in 2016, Sans Absence is a London-based label run by DJ and Producer Akito. The label ethos is built on a sense of family, giving artists close to him a platform to push and develop their forward-looking club music without any artistic compromises. Following up Noire's 'Castle Futur' EP, the label continues to develop their Paris-to-London crossover sound by linking up with Sylvere to release the 'Green Ray' EP.

Sylvere, associated equally with the underground Parisian club scene and the hybrid percussive styles of East London basements, presents an EP that perfectly encapsulates the dance floor energies of both, generated from a powerful oscillation between themes of emancipation and constriction.

'Manumission' opens the EP on a balearic sunrise tip, with a ghostly, dimension-crossing melody giving way to a rude UK funky rinse-out, punctuating raw and direct dance floor weight with blissful moments of rave-outrospection.

Just as dramatically, 'That Feeling' reels glowing, trance arpeggios through a hollow sub, occasionally stripping them back to highlight Sylvere's light-footed snare rhythms. 'Straightjacket' leans into the EP's darker side, cutting a more combative shape in the club through processed vocals and tense ballroom stabs.

Reaching across the Atlantic in 'Final Skank', Sylvere deploys a haunting Baile Funk vocal over a Grimey rhythm track, anchoring an off-grid cow bell riff with a sparse depth charge kick. Bandcamp exclusive 'Nang Riddim' rounds off the release, providing a bonus sub-melter for the DJs.
