Hector Couto’s Roush Label welcomes French duo Chicks Luv Us to the imprint this May, alongside a remix courtesy of Madrid’s FreedomB.
Marseille based duo Anthony Fonseca and Julien Nerani, aka Chicks Luv Us, have made a considerable impact since breaking onto the scene in late 2014, releasing productions on Get Physical Music, Wow! Recordings and CUFF, whilst gracing the decks at the likes of Ministry Of Sound and Studio 338 (London), alongside their long-standing residency at Spartacus Club (Cabries). Following recent notable material on Relief, Elrow Music and Repopulate Mars, here we see the duo arrive on Couto’s Roush for a label debut, whilst FreedomB turns in an impressive remix on the flip. Title cut ‘Pick Of The Club’ opens proceedings as slick, metallic drum loops, infectious vocal hooks and rich chords combine fluently, before ‘The Other One’ unveils a medley of soulful female and echoed out male vocals laid over a wicked, driving bassline and energetic snare rolls. Last up, FreedomB’s groove focused remix completes the package as the Spanish producer works swirling synths, regimented percussion patterns and ever-evolving effects to great effect throughout.
