The Portuguese DJ and producer Eat Dust has been dropping club shaking tunes since 2013 on labels like Piston Recordings, Monog Records and more. We are excited to present you with his latest offering here on DPE. The Caaula EP consists of two originals and a remix from Arrabida.
Up first is the title track, ‘Cacula’, which is a deep, pushing ride through minimal tech goodness. With a driving sub and punchy kick the low end of this composition creates an intense pressure that is complimented by shuffled minimal percussion and energetic synth lines. A tribal vocal cut comes to the forefront in the break and picks up the energy as it remains throughout the track. Slick effects and synth modulation ensures that this wild ride remains captivating from beginning to end.
Arrabida’s take of ‘Cacula’ is next on the EP and he has taken a more tribal edged, percussive approach to the track than Eat Dust’s synth driven original. Intricate percussion grooves dominate this version and the drums constantly evolve throughout. The vocal hook enters and together with tense effects and delay builds, it helps to bring serious energy and excitement to the record.
Closing out proceedings is ‘Capulana’, Eat Dust’s second original composition on his DPE debut. ‘Capulana’ is another driving track with minimal percussion and a heavy load of sub frequency. Once again Eat Dust shows his skills of synthesizer manipulation with subtle and intricate melodic aspects underpinned by the punchy beat and catchy vocal cuts creating another well rounded dancefloor gem.
