Subground 3000

Nice & Nasty
NANO163 | 2018-04-30
Nice & Nasty are delighted to add another up and coming artist to its international roster, Subground_3000 from deep in the French underground.

Techno, Electronica is about two things: 1. DIY ethic and 2. The Future, and Subground 3000, Lee Trax alongside Jay Riordan, DJ Mourad, Elpierro, Ricky Sinz and The Parallel all represent the future just like Derek Carr, Matador and Chymera previously and Hawtin, Atkins, May and Clarke did before that again. Despite the waves of techno pioneers and future funksters the one thing in common is the love of music, melody, funk and sci fi space adventure.

Ironically the future sounds of Detroit and Chicago are having a renaissance with France, Belgium and UK/Ireland again leading the way and Nice & Nasty are having fun being part of this next gen, new wave of music makers and dreamers in the year that N&N turns 25 years old.

Subground_3000 is the brainchild of Niko Voost aka Nick De Voost who has previously released with Naeba Records (France) and CZ Code (Belgium) and the years built a credible DJ reputation in Northern France underground and a massive soundcloud following for his production work.

At the age of 15 he discovers radio SIS Mouscron (Belgium), the sound of Chicago and Detroit techno, which had submerged the whole of England and which will sweep over Belgium and his love of good old fashion techno funk and dancefloor electronica was born.

DJing in various parties, clubs, bars in France, Belgium and Germany and through several radio programmes to share his passion for the electronic music and connect with like minded people, Nick continues to explore the deeper side of electronic music, playing Detroit influenced techno through to deep house.

Nick employed good friend, Lee Trax for remix duty. Lee Trax (also known as Adam Carling) born in France in 1974 has been producing, remixing and DJing for the last 25 years and in 1997 founded the French dance music label BLC Team Records. Lee has since had a revive in his beat mixing ability's and has released Podcasts and tracks on labels such as, Repeat Beat, Majestic House Records, Anecdote Records and Corrupt System (UK), DAST Net Recordings (Germany); Hands Up Records (Canada); Freaky Troopers (France); and CZ Code (Belgium) and now both Lee and nick are on Ireland's Multicultural dream team from Ireland.

Call it what you like but this is a fusion of Deep House, Detroit techno and just plain simple, basic grooves that touch the soul and as a famous Belfast club once said music for the heart not the chart.
