Belgian DJ and producer Marius Acke is back with more deep house shenanigans in the form of his Be There EP. It follows his debut a while back with Tropical Island which was very well received indeed and, this time around you can expect more quality sounds. the early 90's Marius was inspired by the grooves of Chaka Khan, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Bobby Brown and Masters at Work. It wasn't long before he started DJing and thinking about making his own beats. He has been producing deep house on the Wally's Groove World label and his album Balance was nominated for the Zamu awards. He also works alongside Rubba J on their Deepwater project and he regularly spins at various clubs including Café d'Anvers, Café Capital, Bar Tabac where you can always expect a deep, warm, groovy and driving DJ set.

We get going with the original mix of Be There which intros with a solid kick drum and rhythmic hi hat combi. Warm chord stabs join in creating a deep and lush groove which is enhanced by punchy bass plucks. The chords move beautifully, transforming the groove to cosmic levels while cool clubby vocals come through for the ultimate deep experience. A superbly constructed slice that will definitely keep the floors moving.

Maruis gives us his Supercalifragilistic Dub Mix of Be There and here he takes things to a much deeper level with a masterful display of groove construction. A tribal fuelled drum section leads the way as deep bass stabs mesmerize. The superb vocals stand out brilliantly giving the track a classic feel. Gated synth chords, swirling pads and a superb arrangement all make for the perfect floor fodder, not to be missed.

Peak Bash is a pacey deep house joint that will serve to keep feet stuck to the dancefloor with its upbeat performance. A tight drum section leads the way as spacey chords and synth hits combine. Deep basses shore up the low end, feeding the groove and ensuring maximum hip movement. Cool vocals come in adding character which blends nicely into the groove. A definite must have for the busy floors.

Bassflow intros with a nice full, chunky kick drum and crispy hi hat combi. A deep, lush dancing bassline gets the groove moving while sharp synth stabs come in. Distant vocals fade in as the bassline is injected with a dose of funk to shake things up a bit and at the same time funkier keys are introduced. Just as the title suggests this one has a smooth bass flow and is the perfect weapon to get people dancing, no doubt.
