James Monro

Legend of the underground dance scene with a list of achievements as long as the proverbial arm, UK producer James Monro created a moment of magic with his full-length album, "In the Ether," on Proton Music as he celebrated a lifetime of musical production. Extending the reach and influence of Monro's work, Yin and Yang now revisit "Galactix" with remixes from French and Ukrainian talents.

Rick Pier O'Neil is an artist requiring no introduction to the dance music cognoscenti. A French icon whose early career found him producing alongside some of the world's biggest artists as a remixer for Sony BMG, O'Neil has worked with Donna Summer, Lenny Kravitz and Ultra Nate. Head of the renowned RPO Records, more recent work has found the Frenchman releasing on Perspectives Digital, JOOF and Proton Music; the latter with his November 2017, "One Side of the Underground, Vol. 1."

Prolific as he is talented, Rick Pier O'Neil returns to Yin for a third outing and an outstanding remix of "Galactix" that retains the machine-gun fire bassline and throbbing beat of Monro's original while adding a host of additional production material in the forms of shimmering melodic line and rich arpeggio. Building with textured pads that reveal themselves in stripped back breakdown, the arpeggio and lead motif flow in waves as the perfect counterpoint to the driving bass and seething, club-friendly vibe.
