Distale is a new project from Berlin based Michael Knop, himself a techno prophet who until now has kept a fairly low profile - preferring to let his music do the talking. This three track EP kicks off with 'Keep Watching' a powerful, lean and musical cut that stretches the tension to breaking point - the precision programming lends the track a forward propulsion that it's impossible not to get swept along with. 'Isolate' starts in a more dub techno vein, a submerged groove augmented with dub echoes and reverb to give the track a huge sense of scale. 'Mezzo' is a harder proposition, a punchy midrange kick set the tone, crispy percussion adds the top end fizz and a growling aggressive bass brings the attitude.
