For his debut release, the criminally underexposed JAP serves up four delightfully off-kilter slices of meticulously crafted micro-house. With an authoritative blend of erratic percussion, glitchy vocal cuts, wonky bass-lines and grainy textures, this freshman outing from the Canadian producer perfectly embodies the ethos and aesthetics of the mid-2000s micro-house movement, enhanced by a modernized, heavily refined and undeniably fresh coat of paint. The release is complemented by exquisite remix of the title track by the similarly inclined, Ramacod.
