March in the dance music calendar is our favourite time of year. It's Miami time and the lucky ones that are heading to WMC or the associated parties get to shake off the European wind and rain, start drinking Mojitos for the first time since Ibiza and listen to the kind of sun-kissed house music we love @ Glasgow Underground.
Records like "Lovin'" by Piem, Iran Montoro & Jazzman Wax typify the kind of thing we mean. "Love love love this!!! 100% got my support for those pool parties this summer," said Josh Butler when we sent it out. Other tracks by Mike Vale, Unorthodox, CASSIMM and PEZNT (who's Strictly Rhythm release is currently flying in both Beatport & Traxsource charts) all deliver more feel-good house rhythms.
Of course, Miami is not all about the pool parties. When night falls and everyone heads indoors, there's a darker theme to the floor-fillers as the memories of Danny Tenaglia's marathon sets peep through to 2018. For those moments we have some killer heads-down grooves on here, Flashmob's inspired reworking of Romanthony's classic "Let Me Show You Love" takes our dear departed friend's iconic vocal and gives it the heavyweight backing its always needed.
Another one for the 2am strobe is Kevin McKay's interpretation of the Kevin Saunderson/Jay Denham classic "Station of the Groove". Both Montel and Kevin McKay had been toying with the sample at the same time and we tried to clear the sample for Montel to release. In the beginning, Saunderson didn't want to clear it so we commissioned a replay of the vocal. In the end he came round to the sample clearance and we ended up with an unused acappella. Kevin reworked the original synths and added the vocals to a no-nonsense tech beat and the result has been working for the likes of Latmun & Supernova on promo.
As well as these two we have new tougher jams from the likes of Marcellus Wallace, Brett Gould, Truth Be Told, Vlada Asanin, Emery Warman & GuyMac, and Hilton Caswell.
DJ Support from: Latmun, Roger Sanchez, Illyus & Barrientos, Mat.Joe, Andrew Meller, Claptone, Flashmob, De La Swing, Alaia & Gallo, Sacha Robotti, David Ordonez, David Tort, Danny Howard, Marco Anzalone, Cassimm, Dario D'Attis, Ruben Mandolini, Supernova, Nightwave, Erik Hagleton, joyce muniz, PEZNT, Wade, Leon (Italy), Lexa Hill, Vlada Asanin, PANDA, Marcellus Wallace, Lex Luca, Simone Liberali, Astin, Tough Love, Krywolf, Guy Mac, Bias, Dilby, Hollen, Robert Owens, Piemont, Mauro Venti, Vanilla Ace, Pete Griffiths (Toolroom), Karuva, D.O.N.S., Le Visiteur, Midnight City, Stereo MCs, Per QX, Steve Lawler, SKT (Kiss FM), Paco Osuna, Yamil, Alan Nieves, Aydin Hasirci, Severino, Vaxx, Greg Fenton, Jean Bacarreza, Marco Resmann, Josh Gregg, Daniel Cuda, TCTS.
