4 To The Floor presents an eight-track release of standout mixes of the much-loved underground 90s club classic ‘Living In Ecstasy’. Featuring the soulful vocals of the iconic American singer Fonda Rae – known for singing some of the most-loved disco, soul and boogie tunes of the 80s including ‘Til You Surrender’, ‘Touch Me’ and ‘Over Like A Fat Rat’ – this classic produced by Mood II Swing cements Rae into the house music hall of fame. ‘Living In Ecstasy’ was originally released by Freetown Inc, a celebrated London-based house music label which ran from the late 80s over the course of ten years. The label is recognised for releasing early tracks from house music legends Kerri Chandler, Roy Davis Jr and many more.

This release features the three original Mood II Swing productions from that Freetown 12”; the iconic The Groove Mix, the deep-house induced NY Mix and JC’s Ecstasy Dub providing more stomp with a booming bassline. Celebrated pioneering French producer François K features with his very special ‘Groove Mix Edit’. The much-loved London-based duo restless soul, formed by Phil Asher and Luke McCarty, present their Ragtime Mix which incorporates broken beat elements before dropping into a cool house groove, whilst the Rufftime Mix is a straight up house music with that signature restless soul West London flavour. Louie Balo offers a warehouse-influenced dub more exemplified of today’s modern tech house sound. Washington DC DJ Jean-Philippe Aviance rounds off the release with his accapella version of the track.
