When he’s not saving Southern Australia with his Tesla built batteries, American entrepreneur Elon Musk is providing musical inspiration for Rejected’s first release of 2018. Drawn to the studio in what he describes as a ’sci-fi mood’ after viewing a documentary on Musk’s experimental companies, Dutch producer MULDER hit a strain of rapid creativity himself. “After I found the kick and bassline, the rest of the track developed very naturally and was completed in just a few hours.” Evoking memories of classic GU moments, ‘Elon’ opens with swirling synths, bubbling bass and glistening percussion. Warm yet scything chords enter mid way and together with its vocal runs the track delivers a classic and emotive dance-floor feeling. Rejected boss Edwin Oosterwal continues his strong run of Dubs with another tightly locked and hypnotic offering. Strong filter action and stunning claps make this an essential selection.
