Cambridge, UK based DJ and producer PRO-Gram aka James Curtis joins the ranks of JOOF Mantra with the impeccable psy trance grooves of Angel In The Desert. James has been producing hard trance for a few years under his DJ Holocaust guise, carving out a solid reputation in that area. But, he has always loved the psy arena, mixing it up in sets or producing it to his own style. He is impressed by the current state of psy with artists such as Ace Ventura, Astrix, Side Effects, Symbolic, Lyctum, Liquid Soul and Vertical Mode among others having a big impact on him. PRO-Gram is his new alias focussing on progressive psy trance productions and mixes. An exciting time for this talented artist we're delighted to have him on board.
Angel In The Desert intros with a surreal sequence filled with swirling pads and an captivating gated synth before a rumbling bassline fades up alongside climactic risers. Silence befalls the track then the drop hits with a thump unleashing an infectious psy driven bassline and pumping beats. A chest pounding groove ensues complete with perfectly placed FX and single synth hits as a hypnotic arpeggio weaves a melodic sequence. Intensity invades the track thanks to some serious 303 action. The break reveals more scathing synths and that wonderful arpeggio, the 303 returns for the build up and we're slammed right back into full on mode. Top notch stuff that will be a welcome addition to the more energetic sets.
