Rude (adjective) ro͞od/

1. offensively impolite or ill-mannered.
2. roughly made or done; lacking subtlety or sophistication.
3. (British) vigorous or hearty.

Newcastle-based Tom Baardman, who performs under his surname (equipped with the facial hair to rightfully do so), has gifted U|S with three very special progressive club weapons in the form of the Rude EP.

The EP’s title track kicks things off, showcasing Baardman’s signature progressive palette served with just the right amount of tension and release.

Despite being the same BPM, ‘Captivate’ seems to pick up the pace, relying on machine-like percussion and a crunchy, driving riff.

Significantly bouncier and groove-driven, ’Luza’ is the obvious outlier of the release. Written with Ibiza in mind, it’s bound to bring any crowd back down to earth and get its feet moving again.

We’ll use the British definition of ‘rude’ to describe this strong overall performance from Baardman, as these productions are far from roughly made or lacking sophistication. Perhaps however, it was impolite and ill-mannered of us to keep them from you for so long.
