We round out 2017 with a pulsating release by Metrocat, from Edinburgh, Scotland. 'Terra Incognita' starts us off with immediate urgency. Throbbing bass, a detuned lead and subtle yet effective changes and transitions. Next, 'Groundwork' takes things up a notch with it's shredding lead synth, punishing bass, and a break down from a higher dimension.
We also have 2 remixes here of the title track, one by EDR label boss Jay Zoney, and another by newcomer, Gerhardt Schmidt. Jay's 9+ minute journey builds and builds and builds, spatially, hypnotically. Gerhardt's remix in contrast is a tweakier wiggle, with a noodling main groove and wide pad washes.
