SOUP015 | 2017-12-14
New York producers Ant LaRock and Klienfeld team up on Back Back: a darkly brilliant two-track house release that continues SOUP NYCs exemplary run of form.

Ant LaRock is a producer of many talents, equally at home on Todd Terrys InHouse imprint as he is remixing the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Snoop Dogg for the majors. Constantly innovating, bending genres and refining his sound, Ant LaRock continues to turn heads across the industry.

Here he teams up with Brooklyn-based Klienfeld, and up-and- coming artist currently raising the bar with his approach towards house and techno production; incorporating tough kicks with driving rhythms, synth stabs, chopped vocals and hats galore. Klienfelds tracks have been supported by the likes of Skream, Scuba and Dave Clarke, and is without doubt one to keep a keen eye on.

Their debut release for SOUP NYC Back Back is a collaborative effort, with LaRock and Klienfeld each giving us their own take on the original cut. Ant LaRocks mix is a percussion-heavy house workout boasting multiple builds and an urgent, driving rhythm set to send peak-time dancefloors into a frenzy. Klienfelds take is altogether darker: with eerie, slowly building synths adding a menacing tone, and sharp, scything hats cutting through the sinister atmosphere.
