The ‘double-headed dragon' that comprises the Lanvary production moniker has seen much success in recent times. As their triumphant production work continues to shine brightly across the underground dance scene, "Venus" provides a new orbit on Proton Music.

From the Moldovan capital, Alex and Andrew have charted an impressive path that has seen the duo's diverse musical backgrounds converge with their Lanvary production name forming a unified front to celebrate a distinctive production sound. "Melting various ingredients in their musical kitchen", the Chisinau based pair have carved out a successful niche for themselves.

Thus, well over a century of production credits can be found allied to the Lanvary name over almost thirty different imprints. Making their original EP debut with the "Airtight" EP on Michael and Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Digital, the pair have gone on to be regular contributors to the Underphunk and Stellar Fountain imprints, while also featuring on the likes of Silk Music and Stripped Digital.

Moreover, it is with Particles that Lanvary have continued to showcase their notable production talent with a string of original productions that have captured the attention of fans and peers alike. October 2015's twin-track "Micromegas" was an opening salvo in an impressive armament as 2016's "Slingshot Ride" and "Penumbra" offerings went on to build their arsenal. June 2017's "Leviathan" was the most recent offering, while a remix of Kastis Torrau and Donatello in early 2017 demonstrated skill and technique in the remix arena.

Debuting on Proton Music with a remix of Matter in April 2017 (with an alternate version appearing on Particles a week earlier), Lanvary now make their full debut on the flagship imprint with the elegant and beautiful, "Venus" EP. The title track itself is a sublime study in rhythm and melody as a shimmering sequence provides a unique opening movement before a strong house groove ushers in a more familiar dance floor feel. Evolving effortlessly across a nine-minute interstellar voyage, "Venus" showcases Lanvary's production craft as pulsating and gated waves reach out across the stereo spectrum. Meandering layers of harmony and counterpoint melody drift atop a strong beat and hypnotic shaker pattern to create a work of rare imagination.

Partner track, "Cerberus", opens with strong rhythmic foundations and head-shaking percussive groove that from the basis for a kaleidoscope of sound to flourish in gated, pulsing fashion through textured pads. A searing lead line, redolent in delay meshes in pulsating fashion as a brash and dynamic bass line carries the track forward with dark and sinister overtones, filtering across the low end.

Two new tracks from Lanvary have demonstrated that "Venus" is very much an earthbound goddess.
