ADE 2017 Chicago Artist Sampler

Various Artists

Vested Recordings
VEST003 | 2017-11-20
Some deep-, tech-, and progressive-house goodness for the fine people at ADE 2017 and beyond -- crafted by Chicago-based artists, with love, from the Windy City.

5 musical works were selected for this sampler, with more works from Chicago artists to come in future samplers and releases.

Alex Castaneda - "Soft As Water" (Original Mix)
Self-admittedly, Alex is an "Audio architect, turning silence into sound, nothing into something." He turns in a grooving melodic piece of tech-house for this showcase, perfect for the dark and dirty dancefloor.

Hummingbird - "Turn Me Around" (Original Mix)
While relatively newer to Chicago's DJ and producer roster, she has progressed quickly by both playing great DJ gigs and putting her classical music background to use in her productions. Her deep house submission will warm your mood and lift your spirits.

Jeff Ozmits - "WF9" (Original Mix)
On a hot streak with great releases on proper progressive house labels, Jeff has provided us with a deep, grooving slice of prog, garnished tastefully with melodic overtones. A solid DJ on the decks as well, he's been putting in work in the Windy City. Named after an asteroid that was feared to smash the earth to bits, "WF9" will make you strap in for a ride it will take you on.

Karsten Sollors ft. Jacob Bjorge - "Exposure" (RJ Pickens Remodel)
Originally a resident of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Karsten has been setting things on fire in both the studio and the DJ booth since becoming a resident of Chicago. With releases on Toolroom, Nervous, Great Stuff, Farris Wheel, and more, and with high profile gigs to match, he's quickly truly become one of Chicago's noteworthy artists in a sea of talent. Jacob Bjorge describes himself as: musician, singer, songwriter, producer - alien. He plays electronic rock and composes/arranges for screen and commercial, and provides the vocals on this unique tune. RJ Pickens is a longtime Chicago resident artist, with years of notable gigs under his belt, some thought-provoking releases to his name, and runs Vested Recordings, in addition to providing the re-work of this track. This tune took a driving progressive direction when the dust settled, and promises to make some people move.
