Julio Bashmore blesses the aptly titled FutureBoogie Recordings with their first release, the sweetened House swinger 'Father Father' featuring Javeon McCarthy. Leading on from his 'Everyone Needs A Theme Tune' anthem, it sticks with the more sultry pacing and Deeply Housed vibe, where tickled hi-hats gasp over batty pattin' Chicago kicks and plangent cowbells while the bassline ties itself in slippery knots and Javeon's vocal lifts your soul in fine style. Flipside, the sumptuous 'Craboon' can't decide whether it's 4/4 House or R&B, and is all the better for it. Matching Girl Unit's dextrous triplet-to-4/4 programming, he finds a ideal sweet spot between 808-driven House and R&B which feels so right it almost hurts, but then kisses the pain away with floating pads and tenderly effervescent texturing. There's an instrumental mix of 'Father father' too, making this one highly recommended release!
