Don’t be downcast, soon the night will come. Third Son begins a new chapter with Polymath by introducing ‘Pieces of Me’, a long player broken up into 3 parts. Each part contains something of symbolic meaning to the artist and label head, that when played together also aims to hold a greater meaning for the listener.

First out the gates is 'Hamburg'. A menacing arpeggiating synth manifests the dark tone of this record from the first beat as it gradually reveals more expression on the way to the breakdown. The drums are pounding and subby, whilst the percussion is wild and working hard to keep up the pace throughout.

Once again, leading out with an arpeggiating analog line, 'Repercussion' shows itself to be an off-kilter track with a hopeful undertone. A layered, thudding kick and pulsing sub-low rhythm are pitted with dusted percussion hits and shakes, and abstract ambience that seemingly move to their own rhythm and act to cause disorientation through an otherwise metronomic construction.

‘Heartiste’ rounds off the EP with a heart beating low end and a wafting, accordion-like synth atop the timely percussion and pounding kick structure. These juxtaposed layers unravel and mutate with speed and melodic progression that creates a chaotic harmony to be indulged within.
