Playin' Jazz EP

Ross Couch

Body Rhythm
BRR001 | 2007-07-02
Strong start to this new label from in demand producer Ross Couch

or a number of years now Glasgow based producer Ross Couch has been releasing his own unique brand of house music on some of the world’s finest dance labels. With dozens of releases, remixes and compilation appearances under his belt he’s now taking control of the reigns with his own imprint, Body Rhythm.

On the first release Ross unleashes an all action EP packed full of strong beats, deep stabs and jazz influences. Up first is ‘Playin’ Jazz’ which is sure to light up the dancefloor with it’s driving, peak time rhythms, jazzy, big band brass stabs and vintage piano chords. Following hot on it’s heels is ‘Still Striving’ which shows real progression from it’s early techy sounding stabs and sub-bass groove, into a deep melodic houser with Rhodes chords and soulful sax melody playing over a spoken word vocal and female vocal hook. Finally comes ‘One Night In The Bronx’ which as the vocal rightly says is a ‘kinda funky jazz toon’ that sees all kinds of instruments being thrown into the mix all with the sole aim of getting you up and dancing. We think you’ll be more than happy to oblige!

All tracks written and produced by Ross Couch for Body Rhythm Records (2007). Published by Seamless Music.
