Our next ep is another label debut from an exciting young producer -- this time from South African teenager La Deep with the futuristic Rabbit Teeth EP. The five-track ep layers moody soundscapes over elements of big room NY house, classic '90s deep and modern South African afro house. The young artist is well beyond his years and not afraid to take chances in the studio, mix things up and go deep underwater with these productions.
Sfiso Sizwe Khumalo aka La Deep hails from Bethal, a small town in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Starting his musical journey from the age of 9, La Deep has grown to understand music from a different perspective: he is a dj, producer, songwriter and poet who takes inspiration from the environment around him.
Citing among his musical influences Mount Kimbe, Dj Koze, Jimpster, Osunlade, Powel, Andhim, Kellerkind and The Revenge and many others, La Deep burst on the scene last year and has since released a handful of projects. You can find his is early productions on releases from Housahaulic, House HED Music & Gentle Soul Records from South Africa. Keep your ears open for big things from this upcoming producer.
