ØSCILLATE Records storm into their fourth release in just as many months with a three track EP consisting of an Original and Club Mix of ‘Those Apples’ from Company Is Family & Subtoy, and a sensational remix from the impeccable French duo, Masomenos. ‘Those Apples’ is yet another unique and diverse EP from the ØSCILLATE Records team.
Company Is Family & Subtoy’s twelve-and-a-half-minute Original of ‘Those Apples’ is a house track layered with smooth pads, pulsating chords, and chattering vocals which culminate in creating a distinct atmosphere that can only be attributed to ØSCILLATE Records. ‘Those Apples’ is a complex track which carries an experimental air as it progresses from it’s exciting intro, into a spellbinding and truly unique piece of music that is ideal for any main-room.
The Club Mix of ‘Those Apples’ is raw, stripped back and although keeping some of the original’s key elements, a very different interpretation. A 4/4 backbone drives the Club Mix into a peak-time, hard-hitting dancefloor cut. Whilst the original vocals are in place, some of the enigmatic sounds of the original are eliminated, creating a techno track that could be heard deep into the hours of any given party.
Masomenos finish off the EP taking ‘Those Apples’ and reinventing it as a minimal track that ØSCILLATE Records are proud to present. The original chords are intact, though altered slightly, whilst the French outfit take the track and reproduce it in a way that only they know how. The ten-minute track travels along subtly with melodic ease into its breakdown, and back round again with hypnotic highs and seemingly effortless rhythm. A perfect way to round off a diverse and exciting fourth release.
