South African producer, Red9, is back on Dopewax with his second EP, Intracity. This producer/multi-instrumentalist whose name comes from "the blood uniting all Nine provinces of South Africa," reaches deep within his being to emerge with 3 more of his signature intricately-woven, super-vibey instrumentals. The first offering is "Engagement," a deep, hypnotic, looped out trip with a groovy kick. Next up, the EP's namesake, "Intracity" takes a more alien tropical turn incorporating their respective sounds keeping pace at a 122 BPM. Last up, "Me & You" ramps up a bit of darker intensity for a 7 minute musical tirade that never loses its cool. Welcome aboard the Intracity introspective. Enjoy the journey.
