Do Not Sleep continue their run of impressive form as Carlo Lio takes over from Hux, whose last release gained huge worldwide support and definitely got the summer vibes flowing in true Do Not Sleep style. Up next and with release number twelve, Carlo’s ‘Prey 4u’ EP sticks true to the Do Not Sleep sound dominated by infectious percussive elements and catchy hooks.
From the title track expect immediate sunshine energy as chopped groovy samples of piano and funk guitar sit filtered neatly over simplistic yet highly effective drum loops. A vocal adds colour to the breakdowns whilst adding to the feel good mood across this entire production.
The second original takes on a techier and darker mood with rolling drums and once again another quirky chopped vocal - definitely a bit of a peak time slammer.
Nathan Barato steps up on remix duty to close the EP, adapting the title track into a heavier and more bass line driven cut which works around the original vocal to great effect, coming together to create is ‘Nacho Burrito Remix’.
