'the perfect vehicle for Nomi Ruiz's molasses thick vocals, the kind of thing that would have made Madonna in her Danceteria days swell with jealousy'. RCRD LBL

'If you are liking Beth Ditto's new musical direction for her solo project, then we really think you're going to enjoy Jessica 6. Made up of some former member's of Hercules & Love Affair, the band - like Ditto - is making pop music with a disco feel and a real soulful vibe as well. We love it!' PerezHilton

'White Horse' is stunning debut single and anthem-in-waiting from the hugely talented and super stylish Jessica 6. Already causing ripples through the blogosphere, it's classic and contemporary in equal measure with a dark twistof emotion and a massive pop sensibility. The exclusive B side is the equally engaging 'Pressed' - beautifully languid art disco at its most seductive.

The New York trio is fronted by the beguiling and beautiful chanteuse Nomi Ruiz. Equal parts high-fashion and street smart, her smoky, emotive vocals are matched by her spellbinding style. The 24-year-old is also an in demand DJ and doyenne of the city's fashionistas and arty cognoscenti, who has already been cited as an inspiration by the likes of New York designer Catherine Holstein. Bassist Andrew Raposo and keyboardist Morgan Wiley were members of Automato whose debut album was produced by DFA's James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy with who they retain a close working relationship. They deftly meld the Jessica 6 sound into an inspired modern day take on paradise garage, new jack swing, noir pop and disco soul, pronounced R&B overtones.

Jessica 6 originally met via their involvement with Hercules and Love Affair, whose debut album featured Nomi's vocals on two tracks, and with whom they toured throughout 2008 before harnessing their onstage synergy to recast themselves as Jessica 6. Named after a character in the sci-fi classic Logan's Run, they are inspired by horror, sex and psychedelia. A dark cinematic theme runs through their sound giving it a drama and edge that's influenced by the twisted other worldliness of Twin Peaks and Bladerunner as well as classic horror films.

The band will release their debut album, 'See The Light', in late May and amongst its many highlights is 'Prisoner Of Love', that sees Nomi reunited with her long time cohort Antony Hegarty as they weave their voices around each other to stunning effect. With this album Jessica 6 have created a raw portrait of life in their beloved city and the highs and lows that come with it.
