Sizzling with analogue synths, slicing guitars, warm bass lines and crisp drums, XOA’s compositions take influence from the sounds of London's fervent electronic music scene, fusing Broken-beat and House music foundations with golden era 70s Afrobeat, Funk and Jazz.

‘Mass’ is a great exponent of his emphasis on live instrumentation and collaboration. Marrying afrobeat flavours, precise snare work, bubbling Oberheim acid bass and clever sampling of a Congolese vocal group.

‘Mon Ecole’ takes its name from vocal samples recorded during a recent trip to Senegal which included a trip to a local school. Musically the track injects a heavy dose of funk into the mix, switching between upbeat horn lines and warm Fender Rhodes to down and dirty Minimoog bass lines with tight guitar chops.

The remixes are handled expertly by Berlin’s Glenn Astro (Ninja Tune) and rising London producer Ben Hauke (Church).

Alongside a growing reputation as a DJ, XOA has developed a scintillating full live show incorporating both electronics and live instrumentation, recently performing at Brixton Electric, The Forum and a sold out headline show at the Jazz Café.
