One of the most talented and hard-working individuals in the modern dance industry, Andre Sobota, continues to deliver powerful musical punches with astonishing regularity. As he now returns to Proton Music, a sublime twin-track EP takes form in the shape of "Unmute".

An artist with true cross-genre appeal and a pedigree to match, Andre Sobota, from the creative Sao Paolo hub, has become one of the brightest lights in Brazil's musical firmament. Followed by a legion of worldwide fans and respected industry peers, Sobota's star has never risen higher. A musician of considerable repute, proficient in composition and jazz improv, a portfolio to rival any finds over four-hundred production credits to his name with a headline-grabbing official remix of Coldplay and Rihanna's "Princess of China" providing a hallmark of 24 carat quality. Two UK released drum and bass albums under his Bungle pseudonym further illustrate Sobota's sizeable talent.

A regular contributor to the likes of Anjuna, Perfecto and Pryda Friends, the Andre Sobota catalogue continues to grow in scope and recognition, as his music finds its way into the virtual record bags of the industry's finest DJs, from Hernan Cattaneo and John Digweed to James Grant and Jaytech. Furthermore, appearances on BBC Radio 1, as part of Mat Zo's "Essential Mix" and Simon Patterson's residency, have kept Sobota's name very much in the global spotlight.

A regular on Proton Music for over seven years, Andre Sobota has been responsible for some of the finest progressive sounds to emanate from the label. With EPs that include 2009's iconic, "Outside" and 2014's "5 Years Outside" sequel, the trio of "Signal", "Fragments" and "Concluded" have seen a clutch of high-profile remixes from the likes of Shingo Nakamura, Tim Penner and fellow countryman, Danny Oliveira. Indeed, it is with the latter that Sobota released the "Forms, Techno Vol. 1" sample pack for Konstrukt in February 2017, adding a further string to his considerably sized bow.

Now, Proton Music welcomes back Andre Sobota with a brand-new pair of tracks that combine to form the "Unmute" EP. Opener, "Departure", is a vibrant tour de force that bristles with the Brazilian's trademark melodic skill. Richly textured chords skip alongside crisp hi-hats and dominant kick as pulsating pads duck in side-chained synchronicity. A glorious freeform melody glistens across the upper frequency spectrum in counterpoint confluence, evolving elegantly at the mid-point breakdown before a third movement sees rhythm and melody converge once more in joyous fashion.

The title track continues the narrative with distinctive rolling groove that bears all the hallmarks of an artist at the very top of his game. A delicious grooved bass line resonates across the lower frequency, adding further depth to percussive and rhythmic components, while a symphony of melodic sequences creates an ethereal, spine-tingling quality. A track that epitomises the Andre Sobota sound, "Unmute" is certain to find favour on dance floors across the globe in a work of genuine skill and artistry.

In a loud and clear demonstration of his talent, two new tracks illustrate that Andre Sobota is fully "Unmute".
