The Brit-funk Project

Brit-funk is back, and just as it did in it's first manifestation, in the late 70's and 80's, it's like a bolt of lightening that nobody saw coming, striking the dance floors and shaking things up.

The Brit-funk Project is lead by Paul Phillips (producer/guitar/vocals) and Jeff Guishard (percussion/vocals), bringing with them a wealth of experience and an exhilarating, dub-inflected raw funk that is guaranteed to have you bouncing off the walls.
Complete with funky scratch guitars and monster grooves that scream, "We're back!"
The Brit-funk Project have a sound and an attitude that is as relevant now, as it was in the post punk days where it first emerged. They chant, "That's what we are, superstars" with a
sense of purpose and a confidence that comes from the streets of North West London.
Unique, unafraid, ready to kick ass and take on the world. A particular brand of infectious funk that could only have originated in the UK.
Their first single, 'Hi-Tension (Bless The Funk)' is a return to their roots. A fresh and inspired reworking of the classic dance floor filler, Hi Tension by Hi Tension of which they are both members of the original band lineup which peaked at number 13 in the UK charts in 1978
This is the rebirth of a classic genre. The time is right, so get on board and...Bless The Funk!
Jeff Guishard - The Brit-Funk Project

Chris Simmonds is the nephew of Jeff Guishard and half brother of Leroy Williams the percussionist of Hi-Tension so it was inevitable that Chris would be involved as this record ignited his personal journey into music and so delivers a superb Houseproud Remix!
