Reptile Dysfunction

One of my main reasons for setting up Reptile Dysfunction was to shine the light on some of the amazing fresh young that I meet on the road on my travels around the world, and start to build a little crew from some of these equally amazing people to be part of my label family. I'm fully confident that you will be hearing a lot more from all the guys featured on this EP, not least on Reptile Dysfunction where I'm currently working on tracks and/or helping them put together their first full EPs. You've already met Tan Dem, Trooko & El Prevost, (LOTS more to come from all of those cats!). But in the meantime, I wanted to use this release as an opportunity to introduce you to these guys with a track from each of them to give you a little taster. On this EP you will find 2 collaborations involving my fair hand and a bunch of solo tracks from the other guys. Here's a bit of info about all of them:

Josh Newsham I got to know properly when he was working as an artist liaison at a gig I was playing at Sankeys in Manchester. He's also been working summers in Ibiza for yonkers. He has been sending me demos for a while and it's been really nice to hear him getting better and better. I really liked the Idea he had for Trip to Medina so I decided to give it a little massage with my sausage fingers work on the track together and here you have it. You may recognize it as I've been playing it in most sets for the last 6 months.

Colour Castle aka Christian & Casper are from Sydney Australia and they've been sending me demos for a while. We played a bonkers show together in Byron bay and got on like brothers separated at birth, so we decided to work on a couple of collabs together. This track, "Stay Hungry", I thought was a perfect fit for Reptile Dysfunction - nice, warm, funky, nonsensical house music! Enjoy!

Blantyre Aka Trev is a fellow Ibiza Local, he's lived on the island for years and he's a lovely, lovely man. He gave me this track on a usb stick of demos at a BBQ a while ago and I have been playing it ever since, with plenty more where that came from!

Charlie Rope is one of my team of young residents for my Ibiza Based "Doorly & Friends" parties on the Island. He's been doing the summer seasons for years, he's a wicked DJ and is always last man standing at a session, so it was great to start hearing his productions getting cracking this winter. The boy has been on fire and we will be releasing his first full EP on Reptile Dysfunction in autumn, but here's a teaser of his bouncy, sample based vibes.

Mobula aka Rory Lyons is the brand new alias for a long time collaborator and friend of mine. He actually gave me my first break in Ibiza 12 years ago when he was playing for Ibiza Rocks as Cassette Jam, He suggested me and I got the gig that eventually led to me living here all year round, so it's nice to be able to return the favour! We have a 2 track collab EP coming out together this summer but here's a solo track from Mobula for now.

And last but by no means least we have the boy Griff. He's quite the character, any Ibiza summer season regulars will be more than familiar with his work. He's another one of my team of awesome selectors I bring in to set the tone at my Doorly & Friends parties, and one of the most fun people to be around at an afterparty on the planet! He's been at home away from temptation in Stirling all winter and its lovely to see his productions getting better and better! Griff will feature a track on the first Reptile Dysfunction Vinyl Disco Edits release in august. This track, "Pawn the Monkey" is cheeky and fun and what really tops it off is this video he made of his uncle dancing to it around the landmarks of Stirling!
