Let me introduce to you on the label, a very good friend of mine, Paul Davis. You will know Paul as one of the founder members of 'The Happy Mondays' with whom he had many hit singles and albums including hitting the number 1 spot in the early 90's. He now produces under the name of 'PD & Cousin Tony' and in fact this is his first release since then. I've always been a fan of Paul's keyboard style, especially on the piano. He has a style all of his own and I could recognise it anywhere. Here he gives us a track which features his piano mainly but he also integrates many other keyboard styles as well. This all revolves around his vocal hook which forms the title of the piece. I gave the remixers the piano parts as well as the vocal because i wanted to showcase his parts to the full. I was not disappointed as you all will hear for yourselves.
On the remixes i was inspired to go for a deep techy style on my 'Placidic Dream Deep & Dirty Mix'. Rampus takes control of Disco House duties with a pristine production on his remix as always. I want you to give a warm welcome to Phunky Rabbit to Lennie Andersson from LA Rush. I have enjoyed music from LA Rush(Rush Records/Sweden) for a long time and it is a real bonus to get them on board. Next up blu inc who you will already know from previous Phunky releases, gives us a simple but effective remix utilising Paul's piano parts to good effect and adding a cool sax part into the equation. Finally i also want to welcome for his debut on the label DJ Trick Rick. Here he goes into 'Speed House' for his version of the track and I can quite easily see DJ's dropping this mix in the clubs right when they have got the crowd worked up into a frenzy.
Paul would like to thank Crom and KC from Radium Studios Manchester for all their work recording and engineering him.
As always it is all about the music here at Phunky Rabbit Records and behalf of myself (Malc East - owner Phunky Rabbit Records) and everyone involved we hope you enjoy the package.
